Maison; TJRS
Maison; TJRS, a fashion house that keeps a record of what emotion leaves behind.
Can a garment preserve what emotion leaves behind?
Maison; TJRS is a speculative fashion house built with the permanence of an art institution. Its collections do not disappear after a season; every object keeps a record of how it came to exist, who touched it and what was done to it. Artists and materials co-create couture, and emotion becomes form.
Maison; TJRS began as a design-management brief and became a house. I wanted to know whether a garment could hold what an emotion leaves behind, so the first collection, A/W 25, takes four, anger, obsession, solitude and grief, and treats each one through its construction: a leather jacket repaired with wire, a denim jacket held in by its own proportions, trousers carrying another artist's private world, a garment that keeps its residue. Around those objects I designed the house that would make them make sense: an identity that labels clothes like archival holdings, a code that records where every piece sits, a certificate and box that travel with it, and three tiers that let one idea reach a collector, a buyer and a newcomer at different prices. The garments are shown through concept renders of proposed pieces; none has been fabricated yet.
A house that labels its clothes the way an archive labels its holdings.
The identity is built from the house's own objects. Americaine carries the mark, Spline Sans Mono carries the record, and a spaced semicolon holds the two halves of every idea together: maison and artist, art and body, object and archive.

Luxury has lost its soul to commerce. Art has lost its body to galleries. We bring both home ; inside a maison that treats garments as emotional fossils.
The collection was imagined for a room before a rail.
